Will a payday loan place sue you or just put it on your credit?

Before anyone judges me saying I am a scum and low down..It's not that..It's just my car payment has put me in a rut and I cannot let it get behind! I got a couple of pay advances like for $200...I tried telling them I can pay them off when my taxes come in they don't wanna hear it..I want to know what happens if they don't get the payment when ''they'' want it?? I want to pay it back just cannot right now..I made a stupid mistake people tell me these pay loan places are mean! Will they sue me for such a small amount or just hound me with debt collectors..My stupid friend has like 4 pay loans out and has not paid them back..But I do not want to be like her..They have not done anything to her yet...Help..I live in TN
