What is the best lender to consolidate student loans with? I'm looking for a low fixed rate.?

I've tried Wells Fargo and all they did was stretch out my loan payment so my monthly payments go down but it costs more in the long run. On top of that, they only offer variable rates, so it could cost way more in the long run. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any other lenders that are better options for consolidation.
