Is there an evident of existance of "The city of Atlantis"?

Do scientist proved that "The city of Atlantis" is real and where the location of it? (this question had sense to the people who study or love mytholog/history), but my idea is it is positioned somewhere in the gulf near greece since the original name is atlanta which is greek, since greece gulf is composed of many island and it's even uninhabited by people, or other wise the "city of atlantis is just a myth"?
